WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Holy Scriptures - We believe all the words of Scripture, as originally given, were inspired by God, are inerrant, infallible and, therefore, are the final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13).

The Godhead - We believe in the eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as One God existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13-14).

The Person and Work of Christ - We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14; 9:16). We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:25). We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to heaven, His exaltation and personal, literal and bodily coming again the second time for the Church (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

The Person and Work of Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment and assists believers to understand the Scriptures (John 16:8-11; Rom 8:9; Eph 1:17-18; 1 John 2:27). We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the continued infilling of the Holy Spirit, as an experience subsequent to justification. (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15).              We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12-14).

The Total Depravity of Man – We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis; his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain divine righteousness (Romans 5:12, 18).

Salvation - We believe in the salvation of sinners through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11).

Sanctification - 2.1.11 We believe in the Spirit-filled life and the development of Godly character, in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith (Ephesians 5:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1).

Divine Healing - We believe in the healing of the body by divine power, or divine healing in its varied aspects as practiced in the early church (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14).

The Eternal State - We believe in eternal life for believers (John 5:24; 3:16) and eternal punishment for unbelievers – the literal existence of heaven and hell (Mark 9:43-58; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15).

The Personality of Satan - We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and eternal judgment of Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10-15).

Marriage & Family - We believe that marriage is the joining of one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; 1 Corinthians 7:10). We believe that God intends marriage to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman.  (Malachi 2:14-17; Matthew 19:3-12; Mark 10:6-12; Romans 7:1-2). We believe that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society.  Parents are responsible for teaching their children spiritual and moral values and leading them through appropriate discipline (Genesis 1:26-28; Exodus 20:12; Proverbs 23:13-14; Ephesians 5:21-33; Colossians 3:18-21).

Sexual Immorality - We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage.  We believe that the practice of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, pornography or attempting to alter one’s God-given gender by surgery are sinful.  (Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4).

Church Government - We believe that the biblical form of church government is a plural eldership with a senior leader, who qualify on the basis of spiritual life, character, domestic life, and giftings (1 Timothy 3:2-7; Titus 1:5-9)
